DIY Home & Kitchen Design Day Seminars for new home builds or renovations

Enroling in the one day ‘DIY Short Home Design’ and ‘Kitchen Design Seminar’ before you build or renovate, can assist you in pre-build essential unbiased advice, hopefully avoiding unwarranted costly mistakes. Building construction methods and costs have changed dramatically over the years. Before entering into a building contract, it is recommended seeking an unbiased consultation regarding the building contract, materials, services and finishes. Over decades, many home buyers have been physically and financially overcome by contract anomalies and not-so-accountable middlemen consultants and builders. A one hour consultation with a legal representative regarding the building contract, and an accredited unbiased design consultant (not affiliated with any building related company or supply service) may save much heartache and budget overruns. I strongly advocate seeking unbiased advice prior to entering into any building contract.

Colour

Colour aand light have a major impact on our physical and psychological well being such as behavioural, physical, emotional, sometimes causing depression. We all respond to colour in various ways..often positive but sometimes negative. Learn how to develop colour schemes to enhance interior and exterior home environments making our homes more enjoyable.

Windows and Treatments

Window selections can visually enhance or degrade external home and interior design aesthetics and performance. Window treatments can consume a large percentage of the budget, often overpriced and not required. Judith will demonstrate which windows to select, why and how to select the best treatments for your home.

Floor Coverings

Floor coverings are the most abused component of a home. They may be expensive and unsuitable for their purpose. Learn what works for various situations and how to select the correct finish for areas in the home.

Kitchen design (additional one day course)

The kitchen is the most used room in the house- and essential that it is designed around the user. In this additional one day course, attendees will learn the basics of what works, and what doesn’t- arming them with the capabilities to make informed decisions with their own kitchen redesign projects.

ABOUT THE COURSE PRESENTER

Judith Molyneux is highly specialised in all aspects of home design, Accredited Professional Member of the Design Institute of Australia and a Workplace Trainer and Assessor BSZ40198. Judith has worked as a professional interior designer for over 35 years. Her work has been well published and she continues to teach and practice interior design on a professional basis. Following completion of the courses, each attendee shall receive chapters from Judith’s Guidebook relating to the above.
